Barala in
Puri is famous for Balunkeswar Shiva temple. The architecture of the temple is novel with sanctum, Jagamohana and Natamandapa. It also houses 25 small shrines enshrining of images of
Durga, Khshetrapala, Vairabhi Annapurna,
Ardhanariswara, Damodara, Gopal,
Narasimha, Ambika, and Parshwanath (Jain) images.
Barala is 11 km from Sakhigopal, which is 22 km from Puri, on the NH-203 ahead of Chandanpur.
