Baragaon, located 2 km from Nalanda, is a small village in Nalanda District of Bihar. Also known as Surajpur-Baragaon, it is famed for a Sun Temple, dedicated to Lord Surya.
Famous Chhath Festival is celebrated here with special pomp and show twice a year, i.e. on April-May and October-November. To witness this grand celebration thousands people from far and near visit Baragaon.
Patna Airport, 90 km away, is the nearest airport. Nalanda Railway Station, on Rajgir- Bakhtiyarpur, serves this hamlet.
