Bandiyaa Jehun




Bandiyaa Jehun is a dance form performed by the women in Lakshadweep. In this dance, the performers carry metal water-pots on which they beat to the rhythm of the song accompanied. A uniform dress is worn by the performers which is mostly a long skirt and a blouse. Nowadays, they use a number of musical instruments including drum and harmonium, and the dance is performed both in the standing and seated positions.
