Bandi Nata is a folk play of
Orissa. It depicts the life of Bandi, the wife of
Lord Krishna. The play centers on the sacrifice done by Bandi for the sake of the love Krishna and Radha. The music is provided by a simple drum called dhol. Although a stage is setup, the actors often mingle with the audience while performing the play.
