Baddinath Jain Temple




Baddinath Temple is situated in the Sham Bazaar area of Kolkata, in West Bengal. The temple is dedicated to the Jain God Shitalanath. The temple is renowned for its fine arts and sculptures. The temple is referred to as the beauty of Bengal. The temple scupltures depict Jain figures and scenes from the social life around. The idol of the Jain god Belgachchhiya Parshwanath is noteworthy for its visual splendor.

Baddinath Jain Temple was built by a rich Jain merchant named Raybhadur Baddidashji. The diety was installed under the patronage of Jain saint Acharya Kalyansurishvarji. Every year an annual procession is held on the fifteenth day of the Hindu month of Krithika (October-November). The Managing Trust of the temple is Shri Baddinath Jain shwetambar Mandir Pedhi.
