Babulgaon is a taluk headquarters town situated around 20 km north of Yavatmal, in Yavatmal District. It is 11 km north-east of Savar and 40 km north-west of
Jodmoha. Kalam is 22 km south-east while
Ladkhed is 45 km south-west. Talegaon in Amaravati District is 15 km to the north.
Painganga Wildlife Sanctuary and Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary are suitable getaways in the wilderness, ideal for a single-day excursion. Mahadeo Temple in Moho village, Chintamani of Kalamb, Shri Ranganath Swami Temple at Wani and Sahstrakund Waterfalls are other places of tourist interest in the district.
