Avatar

Avatar, meaning incarnation, is of great import as a spiritual concept in Indian belief and culture. People believe that avatar is an appearance of God on earth. In the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Puranas it is said that Lord Vishnu, one among the trinity of Hindu Gods, takes incarnations to save the world from serious trouble. Vishnu’s complete incarnations are known by the name dashavatar.
