Avantisvamin Temple is a ninth-century structure built in the typical Kashmiri style at
Avantipur in
Jammu and Kashmir.
The construction mainly features a central sanctuary and side porches. The two porches on a basement have exquisite carvings of animals, birds and figures. Images of Ganga and Yamuna are found in cervices on the wall. Main shrine is located within a spacious court while scrupulous sculptures of Lord Vishnu and other deities are found on the basement along the steps leading to the sanctuary. Six minor shrines are situated at the corners of the court. The temple now lies in ruins.
