Athappookkalam




Athappookkalam is a preparation of a floral carpet in front of houses during the harvest festival Onam. It starts from the first day of 'Atham' to the tenth day of 'Thiruvonam'. It is a part of the festivities, which is a symbolic gesture to welcome King Mahabali, the mythological ruler of Kerala.
