Assam Engineering College (AEC) is the first engineering college in the North-East. The college is situated on the banks of Deepor Beel (Deeporbeel) near Guwahati. Affiliated to Gauhati University, it conducts eight under graduate courses in engineering, post graduate course in Computer Application, and Post-graduate research leading to Ph.D. The college has well-trained and qualified teachers, modern class rooms, fully loaded laboratories, well stocked library, modern hostel facilities and a placement cell. Selection is on the basis of performances in the admission test conducted by the Director of Technical Education, Assam.
