Arogyapacha is a medicinal plant growing in the forests of Kerala. The anti-fatigue properties of Arogyapacha (Trichopus zeylanicus ssp. travancoricus) have been long known to the indigenous people, the Kani tribe, in . They eat it during their long treks in the hilly Western Ghats region. The native word 'arogyapacha' means 'healthful green'. Its fruit is used to get rid of fatigue. Modern pharmacological studies have proved that the plant is a very effective restorative medicine. Phytochemical and pharmacological studies conducted on the plant have confirmed the presence of certain glycolipids and non-steroidal compounds (Polysaccharides) with profound adaptogenic immuno-enhancing anti-fatigue properties.
