Ardhanari Nateshwar Temple

Ardhanari Nateshwar Temple is located at Velapur, 32 km from Pandharpur. The temple was built by Bramhadev Rana and his brother Baidev Rana during the reign of the Yadav ruler Ramchandradev in the 12th century.

The temple enshrines an idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati embracing each other. Carved from a single black rock, this half man-half woman idol is a fine example of temple sculpture. The carved image of Nandi rests at the feet of the Lord. There is a holy water tank in the courtyard.

This temple, also known as Vateshwar-Jogeshwar Mandir, is one of the most exquisite and beautiful temples of Lord Shiva.
