Appikonda Temple




Appikonda Temple is a highly revered shrine in Appikonda of Visakhapatnam District. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity here. The shrine contains a life-size image of Nandi carved out of a single black stone. It also carries an inscription dating back to the 12th century, which states that the village was granted by the commander-in-chief of the Chodas. Devotees throng here during Mahashivaratri festival.
