Amnye Machen Institute

Amnye Machen Institute (AMI) is a Tibetan centre for advanced studies located in Dharamsala. It helps in the intellectual, social and cultural development of Tibetan people inside and outside Tibet. The Institute is undertaking systematic and scientific studies into Tibetan history, culture, society and politics.

The institute is an open venue for Tibetan writers, academics, poets, artists and musicians to nurture their creativity through discussion forums and research. Amnye Machen Institute has gained Poul Lauritzen Prize for Freedom twice for its remarkable contributions to the cause of human rights.
