Ammanattom

A Performing Art of Kerala

Ammanattom is one of the well-known folk dances in Kerala. Ammana is a hollow metallic ball that contains many metallic pieces inside. Usually this dance form is performed by women. Four to twenty-four ammanas are thrown up and are caught skilfully without missing any of them. The dance is accompanied by the Brahmani songs sung by the performer.
