Am Dal is a very common dish in the Bengali's summer lunch menus. A combination of green mangoes and lentils, it is very easy to cook. Chopped mangoes, turmeric, salt and sugar are added to the cooked and smashed lentils and sauted with cumin seeds and dry red chilies. Am Dal is a good accompaniment with rice.
