Alder

Alder (Alnus glutinosa) is a medium sized herb with purplish-red catkins, seen in moist woods and watery places. The bark and leaves are considered a tonic. A decoction of the leaves or bark is used for burnt skin, wounds, sore throats and pharyngitis.
