A Bhakti poet of the 17th century, Akho is the pioneer of chhappa form in Gujarati poetry. Panchikiran, Akhegita, and Anubhav Bindu are his renowned works. Most of his writings represent abstinence from worldly pleasures. Akho followed the path of 'karma, bhakti, and
vairagya' (good deeds, devotion to god, and abstinence) in his life.
