Former Miss World from India



Aishwarya Rai, popularly known as Ash, was born on 1st November 1973 at Mangalore in Karnataka. Krishna Raj and Vrinda Rai are her parents. She did her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir at Mumbai, junior college from Jai Hind, and graduation in architecture from Rachana Sansad School of Architecture.

Aishwarya then started her career as a model in fashion shows and add campaigns. In 1994, she was selected as the Miss World. She entered into the film world in 1997 with Mani Rathnam's Iruvar. She won the Filmfare Awards for the best actress in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Aishwarya got the rare honor of having her wax statue placed at the famous Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, London.
