Ahilya Fort is located at
Maheshwar in
Khargone District. The fortress has been converted into a resort and gives the feel and grandeur of 18th century.
Situated on the banks of the sacred Narmada River, the fort has one two bedroom suite, eight double bedrooms rooms, each with attached bathroom, and two tents. The tents have en suite bathrooms. All rooms are air cooled with natural evaporative coolers. Dining is provided either outside under the neem trees, on one of the terraces overlooking the river, or in the chamber of winds, overlooking the Narmada River. Cultural performances are also held in the fort.
