Ahalya

Ahalya was the wife of Rishi Gautama, and was a remarkably beautiful woman. She is said to be the first woman created by Lord Brahma. She was seduced by Indra, who approached her in the form of her husband. Gautama expelled her from his house and one version of the story is that she was turned into a stone by his curse. She was restored to her natural self by lord Ram, when he trod on her. After this she was reunited with her husband.
