According to Hindu mythology, Adilakshmi is one among the
Ashtalakshmis. She is an incarnation of
Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of
Lord Vishnu. Adilakshmi is depicted as residing in Vaikunta, the abode of Vishnu, and serving the Lord. She is called Ramaa Lakshmi, meaning the Lakshmi who brings happiness to the mankind. She is also called Indira which means one who holds the lotus or purity in the hands or heart.
