Aatur Pratyakhyana is a revered text belonging to the Jain canonical literature. It belongs to a collection of texts, called Prakirna Sutras, which deal with the miscellaneous subjects related to
Jainism. It is also referred by the name Aayur Pachakhana.
Aatur Pratyakhyana contains an in-depth analysis of death with reference to age. It describes the differences in the death of a child, a youth, an adult and an old person. This text also deals with the type of pledges a wise person should take during the various stages involved in an illness. Some topics in this text contain descriptions of the manner in which a person should seek forgiveness from all living beings for the sins he may have committed.
