Amtala (Amtola)

Amtala is a busy trading town located 15 km south of Kolkata, in South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal. It is situated about 10 km south of the district headquarters, Alipore.

Alipore Zoo, National Library of India, Agri-Horticultural Garden and Kidderpore docks are some spots worth visiting in the vicinity.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport serves Amtala. The State Highway No 1 (Diamond Harbour Road) passes through Amtala.
