Alka Puri

Alka Puri is situated in Chamoli District of Uttaranchal and is 15 km from Badrinath.

Alaknanda River has its origin here. Satopanth, a triangular lake, is located at a height of 4402 m above the sea level and is one of the sources of the Alakananda River. Alka Puri is also believed to be the abode of Kuber, Yakshas and Gandharvas.
