Har Ki Pauri

Har Ki Pauri, also known as Brahmakund, is located in Haridwar of Uttaranchal. It is believed that the ghat was built by Vikramaditya in memory of his brother Bhartrihari.

Har Ki Pauri, meaning the footstep of God, is considered to be the place, where the Ganges leaves the mountains and enters the plains. It is believed that taking a bathe in this ghat will purify one’s sins.

In the evening, the ghat hosts a Maha Aarti.
