Harsil




Situated 72 km from Uttarkashi, Harsil is a beautiful place located among the mountainous peaks, at a height of 5000 m, on the route to Gangotri, which is 26 km away.

The principal attractions are Sat Tal (Seven lakes), Bhagirathy Valley, and the haunted cottage of Raja Wilson built in 1864. Apple orchards, streams, waterfalls and green meadows are the other landmarks.

A destination to enjoy adventurous activities, Harsil is well connected by roads and has several camping sites and accommodation facilities around.

The ideal time to visit the place is from mid-May to November.

Jolly Grant Airport (276 km) is the nearest airport and Rishikesh Railway Station (258 km) is the nearest railhead.
