The administrative headquarters of Etah District, Etah is a beautiful town situated 42 km north-east of Agra, in western Uttar Pradesh.
Etah is a major center for agricultural trade in the district. The fertile plains between the Ganges and the area to the south-west are used for extensive cultivation; wheat, cotton and sugarcane form the major crops. The Upper and Lower Ganges canals irrigate the area.

Etah Railway Station is a main railhead of the district and connects it with Agra, Mathura and other nearby towns.
