Parikkal Narasimha Temple is an ancient temple located at
Parikkal village, 23 km from
Viluppuram. The presiding deity of the temple is Lakshmi Narasimha along with his consort.
There is a separate shrine for the Goddess Kanagavalli Thayar on the right side of the temple. Another feature is that the temple has no Rajagopuram.
To the north-west of the main temple is the shrine of
Anjaneya, where two idols of Bhakta Anjaneya and Veera Anjaneya are worshipped. There is an ancient deepasthampam (lamppost) in front of the temple, which faces east.
Inside the temple there is a well by the name Naga Koopam and devotees believes that bathing in its water cures one of many ills. Garuda and Gomukhi theerthams are the other main water sources of the temple.
The main festival is the annual Brahmotsavam celebrated in the Tamil month of Chithirai.
