Vellalur

Vellalur is a small hamlet located 15 km from Chennimalai in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. Podanur and Coimbatore are neighboring towns. It is a rich agricultural village with ground water, schools, banks and other amenities. Inscriptions and coins dating back to the Sangam period have been unearthed from here. Arulmigu Sithalingeswar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is the major attraction here. Singanallur, Perur, Gandhipuram, Madukkarai and Podanur are nearby places. The nearest airport is C A Coimbatore Airport. Podanur Junction Railway Station serves Vellalur.
