Tiruchendur



Located 40 km south of Tuticorin, Tiruchendur is famed for the shore temple of Lord Subramanya that dates back to 9th century. According to legend, Lord Subramanya after defeating Soorapadma came to this place and offered his prayers to Lord Shiva. Tirchendur is one of Lord Muruga's six abodes. The place is also ideal for sea bathing.

Thiruchendur is linked by rail and road to Tirunelveli.
