Sri Vaikunta Perumal Temple




Sri Vaikunta Perumal Temple lies at Maduramangalam. A 1000-year- old temple, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. There is a separate shrine for Kamalavalli Thayar.

The utsavamurthi (procession idol) is Embaar, a great Vaishnava Acharya and cousin of Ahcarya Ramanuja. There is a tank called Garuda Pushkarini. vimanas, mandapams and Rajagopuram are also found in the temple.

Brahmotsavam is celebrated in the Tamil month of Chithirai (April- May) and the Embaar avatara utsavam in Thai (January–February).
