Thuraiyur

Thuraiyur is a small town located in Tiruchirapalli District and is around 45 km north of Tiruchirapalli.

The town derived its name from the Zamindars who once ruled this place. They were called ‘thurai mars’ by the people and the place came to be known as ‘Thuraiyur’. Agriculture and weaving are the main occupation of the local populace.

Nearest airport is Tiruchirapalli Airport. Tiruchirapalli Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
