A charming town ideally situated on the banks of Chandragiri River, Kasargod is the present headquarters of
Kasargod District. The meeting point of several languages and culture, the people in this region speak eight languages. Handloom industry and fishing industry flourish in this place. Kasargod is also famous for its saree which is compared with Kanchipuram saree.
The 300 year old Bekal Fort, located 16 km south of the town, is one of the major attractions.
Pallikere Beach, Bekal Hole Aqua Park, Malik Deenar Mosque, Kappil Beach, a much favoured backwater resort Valiyaparamba, Dolors Church, Chandragiri, Malik Deenar Mosque and Malikarjuna Temple are other important tourist spots.
Kasargod Railway Station is in the hub of the town. Nearest airbase is Mangalore Bajpe Airport, 50 km. The town is linked with all major cities in
Kerala and Karnataka by road.
