According to Hindu mythology Kali Yuga is the last of the four
yugas before 'pralaya' or the deluge. This period is called ‘age of iron.’ Kali Yuga is considered as the dark age of materialism and ignorance. Belief is that the present world will be destroyed and cleansed at the end of Kali Yuga, and a new era of peace and enlightenment will dawn.
