Saramsa Garden




Saramsa Garden, established and maintained by the department of forest, is an excellent recreation and picnic spot in Sikkim. Also know as lpecac Garden, it is around 14 km away from Gangtok. The garden is named after the exotic medicinal Ipecac plant. Its large green house has many species of plants. It also has a wide variety of other flora including numerous types of orchids and medicinal plants. Some of the famous butterflies of Sikkim including the "Golden Birdwing" are also found here. In addition, the garden offers facilities to play volleyball and football.
