Siberian Tiger




Siberian Tiger (Panthera tigris altaica) is the largest of the tigers. It has sharp teeth, and huge, retractable claws. The fur is orange with black stripes on it. The fur on the belly and chest is white. White ruff can be seen around the neck.

The animal prefers to live in evergreen forest. The mating season is from December through January. The female gives birth to two to six cubs in a litter. Diet consists of deer, pigs, antelopes, cattle, young elephants and buffalo.

It can be spotted in the Himalayan Zoological Park, Sikkim.
