Pali, previously called as Pallika, is an ancient town of archaeological importance in Pali District
. It is eight km south-west of
Falna railway station
and lies north of the Bandi River
. The town is named after the Paliwal Brahmins who once occupied the area. It has been mentioned in the Jain records as an important center for dyeing. Some old Jain temples are found here. It is also an agricultural market center. Major industries are textile and oil mills and cotton printing. Pali is around 75 km south-east of Jodhpur
Pali Railway Station is on the Rajasmand-Jodhpur line and connected with Jodhpur, Jaipur, Delhi and Ahmedabad.
National Highway 65 passes through Pali.
