The Aryans

The Aryans entered India through the fabled Khyber pass around 1500 BC and established agrarian communities throughout Punjab. They adopted the agricultural life style that existed in the area. These Aryans brought horses with them which led to the development of cavalry warfare and the Aryan culture spread rapidly throughout North India. They developed the Sanskrit language and composed the Vedas. The Aryans played a fundamental role in the shaping of Indian culture.
