Punjab Technical University, located at
Jalandhar, was established in 1997, to promote technical, management and pharmaceutical education.
Under its affiliation, there are about 40 engineering colleges, 56 management, 17 pharmacy colleges, six architecture, two hotel management and 13 colleges imparting courses in medical lab technology and IT disciplines. The university has established about 12 regional centers for M-Tech courses.
It promotes research and development in various fields through its collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Distance education programs are also offered.
