Ludhiana

Ludhiana is an important industrial town in Punjab and is the headquarters of Ludhiana District. It was founded in 1480 by Lodhi princes of Delhi. The town is famous for its hosiery goods and wooden garments. The famous Punjab Agricultural University is situated in the town. Amritsar is 135 km northwest of Ludhiana.

The world's largest bicycle manufacturer, Hero cycles is based here. Some of places worth visiting in the town are Gurdwara Charan Kanwal, Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir, Gurdwara Nanaksar Sahib and Sarai at Doraha.

Ludhiana has a domestic airport and is also a major rail junction of Punjab. New Delhi is 310 km southeast of Ludhiana.
