Akalankannu

Akalankannu is one of the major villages in Karaikal District. It is 10 km from Karaikal.

Akalankannu is noted for its ancient temples, prominent being Vaidyanathaswamy Temple. The water-works located here serve the town of Karaikal in times of crisis.

This village is also a place of archeological significance. Some ancient idols were excavated from here.
