Patora is a historical site located about 20 km from Nuapada
, on the banks of Jonk River, in Orissa
. Encircled on all sides by green clad hills, it is place with unusual scenic beauty.
The place holds in its bosom and culture dating back to pre-Christian era at Manikgarh. The village is also a dam site of the Upper Jonk Irrigation Project. The place offers a lot of scope for boating in the reservoir.
The famous Yogeswar Temple is a prime attraction here. The nearest railhead is the Nuapada Road Railway Station, on the Vizang-Raipur line of the South Eastern Railways.
