Kapilesvara Temple




Kapilesvara Temple is an ancient shrine, located at Angisingh, in Khordha District, Orissa. The temple is situated on the northern banks of the Kusumi River. The presiding deity here is Lord Shiva.

Kapilesvara Temple was renovated recently. Its sanctum (garbha-griha), features beautiful sculptures of Shiva and other deities behind the Shivling. Other deities worshipped here include Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali. Most noteworthy feature of the temple is that there are two Nandi instead of one, which is the usual feature in other Shiva temples.

Khurda Road Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
