Maram Tribe is scattered in the 22 villages of the Senapati District
. The tribe members call themselves, ‘Maram-mei’, meaning the people of Maram. Having a strong resemblance to the Maos,
, they use the same designs and color combinations of shawls. Marriage from own community is not allowed, in this tribe. So they are intermarried with the Mao, Angami,
, Paomei, Thangal and other Naga groups.
