Wilson Dam

The Wilson Dam was built in 1910 on the Pravara River. Located in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, this dam is also known as Bhandardara Dam, for it forms part of the fabulous resort of Bhandardara. Almost 150 m above sea level, the dam attracts a large number of tourists. When the water level in the lake is high, tourists can view the beautiful Umbrella Falls from here. The dam is used for hydro-power generation. A marvelous swimming pool and circular garden are located in the base of the dam.
