Talegaon lies on National Highway 4, en route from Pimpri to Wadgaon, in Pune District. It is 15 km north-west of Chinchwad and 13 km from Takwa. Pune - the district headquarters – is 28 km towards the south-east.

The hills stations of Kamshet, Khandala, and Lonavala, Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary, Nethersole Dam and Karla Caves are some places of tourist interest accessible from Talegaon.
