Siddhi Vinayak Temple, situated on the banks of Bhima River, is one of the
Ashta Vinayaka temples dedicated to
Lord Ganesh in
Maharashtra. The temple enshrines a 3 ft tall
Swayambhu idol of Lord Ganesh in the valampuri mode (trunk curled towards his right). Siddhi Vinayak Temple is located at Siddhatek, about 200 km east of
Pune.
Siddhi Vinayak Temple is on a hill top facing north. The deity of the temple also faces north, the direction of Lord Kubera. Siddhi and Buddhi can be seen sitting on one lap of Vinayak. The idol has a beautiful decorated frame, on which sun, moon and eagle were carved. Also a snake is carved at the middle of the frame. Brass idols of Jay and Vijay (the dwarpals/watch men) are placed on both sides of Siddhi Vinayaka.
Lord Shiva, Goddess Sitala and Lord Vishnu are the other deities worshipped here.
Devotees have to travel about five kilometers to complete a single pradakshinam as the idol is attached to the hill itself.
