Narasimha Wadi, popularly known as Narsobawadi, is a sacred village which lies at the convergence of two rivers, the
Krishna and Panchaganga. Situated about 22 km away from Sangli city and 45 km from
Kolhapur in
Maharashtra, the village has much archeological importance and attracts tourists in quite a large number. This place is well-known for the Narsobachiwadi Temple where the holy Padukas (wooden slippers) of Saint Sri Dattaguru are enshrined. Earlier this place was known as Amrapur. Later it came to be known by its present name after Sri Narasimha Saraswati, who was an incarnation of Shree Dattaguru, lived here for 12 years. The holy Panchaganga River and Amareswar Temple are nearby attractions.
