The feast day of Virgin Mary is celebrated at Bandra Feast. It commences on the Sunday closest to the birthday of Virgin Mary, believed to be 8 September, and lasts for a week. The feast is held at the Basillica of Mount Mary, in Bhandra. The fair attracts large crowds. Devotees light candles in the church to pay homage to the virgin mother.
